Starry Starry night completed

I finished the painting last night and am pleased with the results, although I might still make a few tweaks here and there.Since this painting is mostly based on my imagination I am even more pleased with it,.It feels good to get away from relying on photos .Of course when you do this you are not going to get a photo realistic painting, but you do achieve something special.

Il est bon de retrouver vos oeuvres après plus de 6 semaines d'absence... Je rentre tout juste des Philippines...
Une oeuvre grande et fabuleuse... J'aime l'atmosphère qui se dégage d'elle. Beau et merveilleux travail.
Gros bisous

Very nice Rog. Although what you paint is entirely your composition and colors, I know what you mean about taking those first steps away from photo dependence. I think you will find that you will a whole new area of creation now, incorporating more pure imaginative creation into your photo assisted art. Look forward to seeing how it develops..love ya dad

This turned out very well. It has a lot going for it. The sky is beautiful, and there is a sort of magical feel to the figures gathered around the fire.

This is really beautiful. I'm a South Africa living in London and I really miss that feeling of being in the wide outdoors. One thing I really missis that we don't see stars here! I saw stars in East Suffolk the other day and immediately noticed them.

Thank you all for your comments, and glad you liked the painting Mandy, the one thing we are spoilt here in Botswana is stunningly clear sky's at night. You literally can spend hours just staring up at them and counting satellites moving through the dark.
