Elephant at Chiefs Camp

Title-Elephant at Chiefs Camp
Medium-Oil on Masonite board
Size-6x8 Inches

I was at Chiefs Camp, situated deep in the Okavango Delta, doing some work when a bull elephant casually walked out of the surrounding bush and stood right next to the main deck area .He was so interested in the green grass right around the lodge, that he paid little attention to me while I snapped some pictures, which has contributed to my 6th painting in the (30 paintings 30 day challenge) organised by Leslie Saeta.

Well I have some painting to do if I am to keep up with this challenge,so a question to my readers. What would you like me to paint more of , African wildlife , landscapes,or people and children of Africa? Or something else?....

Hi Roger, this is such a strong painting of a strong and beautiful creature.
I have visited South Africa and loved everything about that country so I would love to see paintings of all the things you mentioned, and maybe some African sunsets.

Beautiful painting :)
What a magnificent animal, and you have painted it beautifully.
What a noble animal. People and children of Africa....but mostly what catches your eye.

I especially moved your yellow umbrella painting. I would like to see more like that. This elephant painting is magnificent. I especially love the texture in the elephant's skin.

All of your subjects are great, but I would like to see some people in your paintings.

This is a fabulous painting of the elephant. I have heard they can be very unpredictable so you were very brave to got those shots! I love you paintings of African children so I vote for that.

Such a strong image! The texture is amazing. With a painting each day, you can paint a little of everything and I am sure it will all be wonderful! I especially like your paintings of children.:)
