Chilli Boy in Second, makes for a painting today. In Maun we have a dirt horse track where they sometimes have local horse racing, and that is where my inspiration came from for this painting.
 I am finding that painting smaller works gives me the freedom of using more oil paints, and trying new effects that I would otherwise not be comfortable doing on a large scale. I decided I would blur the horses, to create a sense of action, and only leave Chilli Boy in focus, the horse that is currently holding second place in the race.

I was only going to post a painting a day for a week,when I stumbled across Leslie Saeta blog and her 30 paintings in 30 days art challenge,and found myself joining .Whether I will complete this challenge or not remains to be seen...

I really like the blurriness and the focus on the subject. I logged on first thing this morning and found that 40+ people already had a painting posted... wow!
